Downtown Burj Dubai is a large scale development project, located at the "First Interchange" along Sheikh Zayed Road near Dubai's main business district. It is a 2km2 (size of Monaco) flagship development comprising Burj Dubai the tallest man-made structure ever built (818 m) Dubai Mall, the biggest shopping mall, and an artificial lake. The construction of the district began on September 2004.

Burj Dubai Tower is a skyscraper and the tallest man-made structure ever built. Construction began on September 2004, and the tower was completed in September 2009. Burj Dubai is over 818 m tall with 162 floors.

Burj Dubai Boulevard consists of a high-rise residential tower (35 stories) situated at the Burj Dubai site. The development includes retail shops located on the ground floor, podium level amenities include a swimming pool, children’s pool and gymnasium.

The Address is a hotel and residential tower of 63 floors (306m). The tower was topped out in April 2008, becoming the 6th-tallest building in Dubai and the 36th-tallest in the world. In September 2008, the tower was completed.

Burj Dubai Lake Park covers an area of 32,000 square meters.

Emaar square is the financial centre located close to the gate of Dubai International Financial Centre, it comprises 6 towers. Various features include a courtyard, and pedestrian walkways.

South Ridge is a 6-tower development on the Burj Dubai Masterplan and consists of boutiques, cafés, restaurants, and the Dubai Mall.

The Dubai Mall is the world's largest shopping mall with 1,200 shops.
