Conceived as Johor State’s new administrative centre, this masterplan has integrated state and federal government while creating a new visitor destination. It is ordered around the traditional Qiblat axis, dividing the site into three. The central precinct contains the government buildings, mosque and a public space that represents Allah. The architecture is Moorish and landscaping Islamic. The north and south precincts contain six office clusters based on the Six Articles of Faith. Here the architecture is indigenous and the landscaping tropical. The project is founded on humanity and the principles of Islam, applying these to effectively assimilate with its context.
