Pol-e-Roomi Office Building
Tehrān, Iran
This private sector office building has five floors over two storeys of parking. Each floor accommodates two units and a lobby and is orientated from east to west to take advantage of views. A service core clad in black timber runs on the perpendicular axis, dividing the east facing official rooms overlooking the river from the west facing public halls, which overlook an embassy garden. The main entrance is to the west and to control heat gain this facade has an outer face of steel louvres. Stone clad volumes housing public spaces extrude through this skin. To the east, the facade is modulated by a series of terraces.
