Railway Station
Dammam, Saudi Arabia

The railway station is a wide, regular shelter sustained by long parallel walls. The design of the railway station is based on the use of the bearing wall. The facility includes a main concourse, ticket area, a restaurant, and platform area. The source of the design can be found in the modular, simple architecture of the Mediterannean mosques. The building comprises the main lobby from which extends two wings. The wings, enclose the railway platforms. The roof is made from prefabricated, prestressed, beams. The exterior is clad in local limestone.
