The Japanese Garden was established in 1917 by Zulfugar Pasha, a resident of Helwan, as a present to Sultan Hussein. Landscaped in an Asian style, the garden included many Buddha statues and mythical animals.
The garden is currently administered by the Department of Special Gardens, Cairo Governorate. Admission is charged.
