Harat Audi
Saida, Lebanon
Restoration and rehabilitation of three separate buildings, in the town of Sidon, into a cultural complex. A 17th century soap factory with stone vaults was restored as a museum with an adjoining shop; a family home was converted into the Audi foundation, providing administrative space for research on local arts and culinary traditions; and a traditional house typical of the old city was renovated. Ramleh stone was used as the principal building material, along with red tile and Kotrani wood.
