Mrs. Mubarak's Children's Museum
Cairo, Egypt
This natural history museum is dedicated to children, and built on two floors covering 1,500 square metres. The visitors can see the history of the river Nile's path through Egypt to the Mediterranean, describing the flora and fauna associated with it and the agricultural activity it enabled. The building is in reinforced concrete with a mushroom -like interlocking grid and a roofing system that is an abstraction of palm trees.
