Beydar Excavation House
Al Hasakah, Syria
Described by the architect as a "maison-village", the 20 x 120 m building, located at the edge of the archaeological site of Beydar, is organised around a series of yards. It provides a variety of functions required for archaeological missions such as specific workshops, living spaces, 16 guest rooms, and a caretaker's house. The facility is used by about 50 people for only two months a year.
