Balikpapan Airport Development
Balikpapan, Indonesia
A project to expand a 1960s airport to accommodate larger planes and increased passenger traffic. The airport development included extension of the runway, construction of a new taxiway, new terminal, and new services buildings, and a new cargo terminal. The new terminal was inspired by traditional architecture of East Kalimantan in its form, use of timber, and pitched roof.
