Bank Menara Bumiputra
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Headquarters for a bank housed in two separate buildings differing greatly in scale, materials, and style. One is a five-storey block in traditonal Malay style, the other, a 34-storey contemporary tower block. The low-rise structure, raised on stilts and with a pitched roof, is approached by ceremonial stairs and contains the banking hall. The structure is linked in three levels to the tower structure. The tower block, clad in marble and glass, is an open, column-free space, occupied by offices from the 4-28 floors.
