Ngaoundéré Mosque
N'Gaoundere, Cameroon
This new mosque was built on the site of an older one. The plan conforms to an early North African mosque types; a rectangular prayer hall adjacent to a patio. The entrance is on the same longitudinal axis as the mihrab. The prayer hall rises slightly higher than the galleries around the patio, and a band of clerestory windows filters light through stained glass to the prayer hail below. The hail is surmounted in its center by a dome. Two round minarets with circular platforms close to the top complete the building.
