Luxor Museum
Luxor, Egypt
The 2,500m2 museum is compact, rectangular volume running prallel to the Nile river. The roof level of the principal volume extends to meet the full-height, disengaged entry facade to provide a shaded entry sequence. The main entry is located at one end and leads to a reception hall. The exhibition areas are contained in a single volume that is divided into distinct areas by variations of the floor level.

A gallery is located above the central reception area and extends the full length of the building. A one-way circulation system directs the visitors through the exhibitions. The building is constructed with reinforced concrete frame and slabs. Infill is brick. Façades are primarily stucco, but some are of sandstone. Interior walls are plastered.
