Within the Shahi Qila,
this
sang-e murmur (marble) pavilion was placed to provide transition
from the highly public area of the Diwan-i-Aam to the private apartments of the
imperial harem. The pavilion consists of
a core of vaulted chambers and is bordered by an arcaded veranda
circumambulating its three sides.
