Damascus School of Architecture
Damascus, Syria
The school of architecture comprises three components:
- the studio, and classroom spaces;
- the administrative areas and a restaurant; and
- the kitchen.
Each of the three makes use of a different structural system to serve as a demonstration to the students of the potential of the structural members. The building is totally constructed of reinforced concrete. Use of expensive finish materials has been avoided, since walls and roofs are painted and no special renderings have been used for the structural members.
