Wakala al-Amir Taghri Bardi
Cairo, Egypt
This building dates to the 16th century, though the exact date of construction is unknown; a funduq has stood on the site since the Mamluk period. A square portal from Shari' al-Maqasis leading to a groin-vaulted passageway that once connected to the courtyard is all that remains of the original structure. New construction has been built above the the portal, and the courtyard is filled up and used for small handicrafts.
