The client requested a home with exterior spaces that could be used continuously in the hot, arid climate of Kuwait, and the architects responded with a design that features three gardens. The basement level contains a summer garden with light filtered from above, a pool, a playroom, and a home cinema. The ground floor contains two living areas, one for guests and one for the family only, as well as swimming pools and gardens; the gardens are within a courtyard overlooked by the upper floors. Bedrooms are located on the first floor, and the second floor is a covered winter garden on the roof. The building is clad in stone, and features screens of anodized aluminium perforated to temper sunlight.
