Khanqah al-Yunusiyya
Damascus, Syria
This khanqah is named after the mamluk amir Yunus al-Dawadar who commissioned the building in 1382-3/784 AH. The building is mistakenly referred to colloquially as the Masjid al-Tawusiyya, after another khanqah that once stood nearby. The ministry of awqaf heavily restored the building in 1932/1350 AH and it was restored again in 1978-1981. Only part of the facade is original to the Mamluk strucutre.1
