Though the bridge's construction date is unknown, it is believed to have been built between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries CE.
Cevdet Çulpan argues that since it closely resembles Beylerbeyi Bridge in Ezine, which was built in 1382 CE, it could be dated to around the same time. It appears to have been repaired in a later period, details of which are uncertain. This is evidenced by the haphazard re-using stones on either side of the large arch.
The bridge has three pointed arches, the largest of which is 15 meters in height.
