The first hotel built in Rabat, Hotel Balima is located directly across from the Parliament of Morocco of Avenue Mohammed V. It is a centerpiece of the development of the street by the Société immobilière Balima, and construction started soon after the company was founded in 1928, It is set back from the avenue, behind a garden. The lower part of the hotel is open in the center, allowing pedestrian access from the avenue to the narrower rue Damas.
In 2015, Société immobilière Balima once again took possession of the premises, after many years of entrusting it management of the hotel other companies.
Renovations started in 2017 and have recently been completed. There are 65 rooms and 6 suites in the hotel.
