Abdul Razzak Tabba Academic Block

This is a three-storey building that houses classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, seminar rooms with breakout facilities and offices for doctoral and master’s degree students. Each classroom had diffused natural light to reduce the need for artificial lighting. A central courtyard provides a much-needed outdoor social space for students with trees grown on a grid to provide shade. The building, composed of three masses, is centrally air-conditioned with the exception of the central mass, which is naturally ventilated. The facade follows the architectural language of all the new campus buildings, with fair-faced plaster bands, silbatta stone and recessed glazing.
