Imam's Residence
Berlin, Germany
In addition to providing a home for the Imam's this villa serves as as an ablution and educational center for the mosque.  There are no ablution facilities in the mosque itself, so worshipers conduct the procedure in an antechamber of the residence before proceeding to the mosque.  There is a large chalkboard on the wall of the largest room on the main floor, which is otherwise comfortably furnished as a salon.  This allows the room to have a dual purpose, as parlor and classroom.  While the mosque is distinctly Mughal in design, the residence blends Mughal elements from the mosque and European elements from the neighborhood.
