This one year project aims to improve the livelihoods of rural farming households through improved access to and better use of irrigation infrastructures. This intervention will strengthen the capacity of water user associations and local authorities on water infrastructure management and governance, improve the access of 3,312 farming households and 30 farmer groups of 13 rural agricultural villages to irrigated water, promote the knowledge and skills of target farming groups on the efficient and productive use of irrigation technologies on farms with the training of 450 rural farmers, and raise awareness of target communities on irrigation infrastructure management practices with the production of 1,500 visual information materials, to be distributed mainly at information sessions on water infrastructure management and on hygiene and sanitation.
