The main objective of this 5-month project is to rehabilitate community infrastructure to enable an access to drinking water with the involvement of the communities in Burgondu. By doing so, ACTED will also decrease the tension between communities and facilitate livestock and agricultural activities in 7 villages. By cleaning the existing irrigation canal from waste and sand and by adding a 500-meter pipeline to connect to a nearby functioning canal, the project will assist 1,954 households. In each village, the project will be presented and some project steering committees will be formed to empower and involve the community. At the end of the project, 7 information campaigns on irrigation water use and 7 on sanitation and hygiene will be led.
