Situation overview:
"Heavy rains from 10th to 11th of May 2012 triggered mudflow in number of villages in Balkhobi and Tutu jamoats of Muminabad district. Several houses including cultivated land and household facilities have been severely damaged. The affected residents were relocated to their neighbors’ and relatives’ houses. The road within the jamoat has been damaged and travel capacity is limited.

On 11th of May 2012, Prime Minister of the country with the representatives of Commission of Emergency Situations of Khatlon province visited the affected area to head the assessment and respond coordination efforts. No casualties have been reported. Villagers were informed about the possible occurrence of mudflow, which reduced the possibility of casualties. Local school and medical facilities are functioning including other social infrastructure. There is a possibility of outburst of infectious deceases within the affected area."
