"This survey identifies a baseline value for the confidence of tenants working under the Joint Forestry Management approach in Tajik Gorno-Badakhshan. Analyzing the data gained in some 60 quantitative interviews with tenants, it gives evidence that in 2009 some 44 percent of tenants in the pilot village of Barvoz and some 31 percent of tenants in the other project villages had confidence in the benefits of the JFM system.
Other results concern the initial expectations of tenants, problems and possible solutions and confidence in different stakeholders. Detailed information regarding the methodology and the survey process is given in order to facilitate the implementation of follow-up surveys in the future."
