In this paper on the effects of tourism and architectural planning, Fathy begins by discussing the apparent and underlying motives for travel and tourism and their effects on the economic growth of a country. He then mentions the ways in which tourism acts as an agent for the implementation of construction and planning. Fathy also discusses the role of the architect and engineer in reconstructing touristic villages and authenticates their success in doing so.
