Hassan Fathy - This paper outlines the various problems related to rural housing development in developing countries. It also suggests a number of solutions to these problems. Fathy proposes a pilot program for building rural housing that would plan for a balanced distribution of the existing population, a mixture of the occupational groups needed to provide common services within a village, and a possibility to train villagers in the crafts and occupations that currently are not present within rural communities.
