With its vibrant community, the urban development project was planned on the basis of community needs and included educational, health initiatives, and support to local businesses. Along the main spine of Historic Cairo, a number of prominent medieval mosques, mausoleums, palaces and historic residences were conserved with the highest standards of documentation and project expertise. This activity was supplemented by housing, infrastructure, and open space initiatives.
