Restoring the Historic Wall, a medieval City Wall marking the eastern edge of Cairo cannot de dissociated from the adjacent al-Darb Al-Ahmar district and its residents and businesses. The uncovering of the earlier Fatimid remains of the mudbrick City Wall launched the restoration of the 1.3 km long Historic Wall, a standard-setting initiative transforming the landmark into a bridge between Al-Azhar Park and al-Darb Al-Ahmar.
