Minaret at Iglesia de San Juan de los Reyes
Granada, Spain
Once serving the Jami' al-Ta'ibin, this late thirteenth century Almohad minaret today stands as the bell tower of the Iglesia de San Juan de los Reyes, itself a product of the sixteenth century and the first Catholic church in the city. The brick tower is square in plan and features an intricate band of interwoven geometric forms above a rectangular panel of blind double arches.
