Ayman Salah Taher Villa
Cairo, Egypt
This large country house and photographic studio is located in a rural olive grove. The owner wanted authentic architecture, with minimal concrete, and the design takes his love of nature as a starting point. An internal garden between double height reception and dining room and several courtyards around the plan form integrate inside and out. This helps to lighten the heavy brick and limestone construction and creates a plurality of experience and views. The pool house ceiling is experimental, being built of red brick and steel cable and intended for low cost construction. Its use here reflects the trust between client and architect.
