Presentation of the Holy Virgin Monastery
Dolac, Kosovo
The Presentation of the Holy Virgin Monastery was founded in the fourteenth century on a hill overlooking the village of Dolac, near Klina, in northwestern Kosovo. A Serbian Orthodox monastery, it was restored in the 17th century under the Ottomans. It was notable for its frescoes, which ranged in date from the late 15th century to the early 16th century. The monastery was destroyed in July 1999 by Kosovar Albanian villagers returning from exile.
