Eid House
Zagazig, Egypt
"Three different plans have survived of this house, which was designed for Mrs. Raymond Eid for her farm near Zagazig. While decidedly different in character, each shows a plan form that spirals out from a central qa'a, forming three separate external courtyards which are individually protected by the projecting wings. The roof in each case varies, being flat in one version, domed in the other two. This exercise, like many others in the architect's oeuvre, shows the surprising amount of design development that characterized his work." (construction not verified)
