Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Kuwait City, Kuwait
The project houses the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Council of Ministers. Located on a site bordering the Persian Gulf, it overlooks a bay. Adjacent is the 19th century Sief Palace which inspired the new buildings, both in volume and in form.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been organized in three blocks linked by bridges and courts. The programme is distributed over two floors. The blocks are characterized by wide, stepped eaves which protect the window openings from direct sunlight. Other facades present large, cut-out screen walls separated from the building by a peripheral arcade, which becomes a shaded zone protected from the sun. The fountains as well as the courtyard features and the internal corridors are tiled in brightly coloured, stripped patterns.
