The programme statement calls for the design of a mixed-use university campus accomodating 8,000 students. The University was founded by the Gulf Cooperation Council comprising seven Arab nations. The main facilities consist of academic, administration, and student buildings. This is the first mixed university for men and women in the Arab gulf.
