Trelisses Apartments
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The building sets out to provide a critical vernacular response to a medium-density apartment development in an urban location. Although a vernacular pitched roof is used here, the vernacular aesthetics are not adopted verbatim in the design. For instance, the excessive regularity of vernacular design is loosened up by the gentle curved set-back section to the external face of the building. The tiled roof-form over the semi-enclosed community areas in the east and south wings create a large in-between transitional space.
