The founder of the Idirisid Dynasty, Idris ibn Abdullah was born in Saudi Arabia. He contested Abbasid rule, but fled to the Maghreb after the rebellion was defeated at the Battle of Fakhkh in June of 786/169 AH.
This bath house, southwest of the Roman town on the right bank of the Oued Khoumane, is believed to contain the oldest Islamic baths in Morocco. It is believed to be part of a residential complex including a granary, and two structures with courtyards.
