Child psychology, modes of learning/teaching, changes in theories over time
I'm doing my undergraduate degree in architecture and am in my 2nd year. We have to design a pre-school for children too young to study in a primary school. I am doing a report on the study of child psychology, modes of learning, changes in theories over time, and how the built environment is influenced by these aspects. I am planning to do live case studies in pre-schools and interview psychologists. I am kind of lost with where to begin and how to proceed. I would be really grateful if someone could guide me with this.

hi/
i am final year student of architecture.I am designing a children home with secondary school as my final year project.I do some case study.I think u can start from ur past schooling experience.think urself what do want in scool as a school student.
i think some thing u have to check-
1)scale
2)to create a natural environment with home feelings.
3)safty and smooth circulation.

u can also check resent aga khan award winning school in barkino faso.

hi sangeetha,
the best way would be to spend a day or two at such a school and see how kids interact with their environments and what are their needs. make your own conclusions. as a case study, i would recommend you Mirambika School in Delhi, which is really not a pre-school but a primary school (till class 5) after which students get admitted to the 'regular' school, Mother's International. education in this school is very different with the emphasis being on self learning and exploration. and the building itself is very 'uninstitutional'with a lot of playful interactive spaces. its a worthy case study.
