Mohit, if you look through the topics covered in this forum, you will find quite a few that deal with the development and potential of the transitional space between land and water.

Mohit, Given that you want to design to attract tourists around and along a lakeside, then will need irregular spaces and even irregular spacing of buildings in order to slow down the flow of people moving through your design, because if your design has long and straight spaces then people will simply use these spaces as pathways from one place to another and will not even stop to browse. :)

Mohit, I do not have any case studies to hand, but what you can look at is both (a) the layout of traditional markets or bazaars and (b) the layout of amusement parks. These are similar in function and layout even if one sells the everyday needs of life and the other sells temporary enjoyment. :)
