mughals used flowing water in the bldgs.like red fort at delhi and gardens at tajmahal agra based on natural gravity,i do not have knowledge that they ever used water harvesting.

I assume the reason for having flowing water systems is to avoid the problems of stagnant pools of water which breed a wide variety of diseases and breed insects which spread these diseases.

Just had a thought, maybe the Mughals used the Iranian Qanat underground water systems as a part of their system supplying water?

As i don't have much knowledge about it but once i heard that the water flows under the buildings to make it cool in summer as in FATEHPUR SIKRI.
i also have to know about it for my seminar on mughal buildings,so if u get any other information than please share it with me......
