designing the islamic hotel
Hello Mr. Aziz!

I don't if there is an example of an Islamic hotel, but I have noticed in hotels in Iran, they keep a praying mat and a copy of the Qur'an for the guests in each room, and There are indications on the walls of which way is Qibla in many hotels in the Middle East.

I would expect an Islamic hotel to have a large prayer room for congregational prayers (with facilities for women as well). I have found it really helpful to be able to hear the adhan (call to prayer) when staying at a hotel, for a traveler may not be familiar with the local prayer times.

Macroscopically, I guess we have to ask ourselves, as Muslims, what we find most difficult or troublesome while staying at a hotel in a non- Muslim majority country, and what would make that stay more comfortable.

You can also play with geometry and geometric shapes to create spaces with, since geometry has a strong reference to Islamic mathematicians.

I don't know if this is of any help. I wish you all the best, and I would love to see/hear what you come up with for your client.

Sincerely
Sonia Urmee
