Zanzibar: a Plan for the Historic Stone Town
Our proposal for Forodhani-Area:

-Rebuild the lighthouse, built 1878-80, at its original position;
use it, e.g., for antennas, illumination, panoramic sight-seeing.

-Rehabilitate Beit al-Ajaib, built 1880-83, to its original and elegant roof- and veranda-design.
Use it, e.g., for exhibition activities.

-Rebuild Beit al-Hukum with its veranda-version of 1885-90;
use it, e.g., for education activities.

-Rebuild Beit al-Sahel within its building envelope of 1895;
install "Maritime Museum".

-Rehabilitate the area between palaces and waterfront;
use it for all kind of public activities.
