How do you introduce mixed land uses in areas that are already built up and have no vacant space for new developments?is there any compromise or risk to expanding on very old buildings?how does this affect their structural qualities...we have a CBD thats very old and decaying (Gaborone)so am thinking mixed land uses will bring the much needed revitalisation?any architectural advice?...PLEASE HELP

in fact local legislation and buld. lobby needs to redraft development plan to justify growth for next 100 years.
