MIXED LAND USE DEVELOPMENTS FOR GABORONE?
Gaborone city is known for its segregated and sprawling growth,is this the best alternative that city managers have?can mixed land uses come in as a solution?especially for the inner city areas that are slowly decaying...whats your take on this?

MIXED LAND USE DEVELOPMENTS FOR GABORONE?
Lesego, I would assume that mixed land use is the way forward, because the more segregated an urban concentration is, the more likely that fossil-fuels will be used to power the transport of people between the segregated areas.

Whereas, mixed land use, breakdowns the city into self-sustaining quarters, whereby, fewer people need to use mass transit urban tranport in order to work and live.

thank you frank,i also want to know the economic impacts that mixed land uses will have in a city and a country that has never had any mixed land uses,and in a country(Botswana) with less than 2million people..any contribution from other proffessional fields or perspectives will be highly welcome..
