Hi, this is a great subject! Maybe you should approach Bobath center or Scope in UK, they have long experience with cerebral palsy. I'll keep in touch and try to get some email for you. ;)

Sharvari,

I just forgot to introduce Mrs Batul Chakera to you.
She is the foundator of several cerebral palsy training center in Kenya.
She is active and lives between UK and Kenya, so she has a wide range of response according to the location means.

From my little experience, assisting her, I know that the design space has to respond first to the need of specific occupational therapy fittings and the aesthetical aspect (the material, finition ...) has to stimulate users response and interaction.

The stimuli should not be limited to visual factor but cover the five senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste.

Don't take as reductive, but think as if you have to design space for babies who have to learn from stage 0 to discover and move into the world.

Plus, dimensionning of space is critical, since several people can assist one special need person(not mentionning the OT fittings, medical and sanitary supplies...).

Feel free to contact Batul, she is a very helpful person.
