Steel frame structures
Hi all,

I have got to do a small study project on light, steel frame structures, preferably some using latest materials and technology which can bear larger spans. Please help me in finding related materials through net or some valuable books.

Thank you,
Sriraj Gokarakonda

Steel frame structures
Hello,

I have been using lightweight steel structures for the past 12 years. In particular framing, that is: .55mm and .75mm thick, usually in 90mm x 38mm deep sections for the construction of wall panels, ceiling joist panels and roof rafter panels for houses and comercial work.

Is this what you are looking for? What spans and loads are you looking at carrying?

Thanks Mr. David,

It's actually a project to design a shelter for a bus terminal in New Delhi for about a span of 13 meters. We are trying to solve the problem with steel. We are on our case studies and referring our library to get nice solution that doesn't involve welding, but joints using nuts and bolts, which can be well adjustable.

Thanks for your advice, and as soon as we get into the structural part of our design, I will inform about the project. I will be very glad if i can get your e-mail ID, to which I can mail and keep in contact.

Your project sounds like something we have already done in New Zealand. I am not sure how to send you my email ID, should you not be able to get me email ID from this site administration?
