Embassy of Egypt
Islamabad, Pakistan
Three, square, two-storey blocks with cylindrical towers used as vertical circulation elements and services. These three blocks are: the diplomatic building, the consulate, and the Abassador's residence. The embassy and the consulate are linked at one corner by a tower and form the main diplomatic building. A common courtyard covered by pergolas enhances this unity. A two-storey block which groups the villas and a cubic appartment block together with the servants quarters and services account for the remaining structures. Geometric patterns and woodwork have been used for balustrades, partitions and mashrabiyyas. The garden is entirely landscaped and several fountains with geometric patterns adorn it.
