Tujjar Jeddah Business Park
Jiddah, Saudi Arabia
The new office park is built on land originally allocated for residential use close to the commercial district. The ‘journey’ into the development commences through a domed mosque beyond which is a conference and business facility. A total of 50 office units occupy the 331-metre-long site which narrows to 19 metres on its western boundary. Restaurants, lounges, meeting facilities and spas are also available. The buildings are identifiable through their Hijazi and Umayyad architectural styles and extensive external landscaping. Facades are accented with Riyadh stone. Glass-reinforced concrete is a cost-effective substitute for ‘mangabi’ stone, and ‘mashrabiyya’ are constructed with Javanese timber and heat-insulated mirror glass.
