Mahindra Management Development Centre
Nashik, India
This management training institute was originally conceived as a company clubhouse, and the aim has been to create an environment that is stimulating to the senses as well as conducive to learning. Including hospitality spaces, conference areas and 24 bedrooms, the centre is rustic in feel, although not in its technology. Indoor and outdoor space merge, particularly in covered passages joining the various elements, leading through landscaped courts that provide informal gathering places and draw light and ventilation into the interiors. Such traditional design features combine with local materials, rainwater harvesting and solar-powered water heating to make the centre environmentally friendly.
