Manas Kyrgyz-Turkey University
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
This integrated university campus, with educational, residential and recreational facilities, is designed to further the university’s mission of fostering cooperation between young people of Turkish and Kyrgyz decent. The University complex is divided into zones: the administrative public zone, educational zone, socio-sports zone, residential zone and the utility zone, with the educational zone as the nucleus of the campus. The planning of the campus was based on the principle of ‘adaptive structural grids’ that were used to link the scattered and separate elements into a comprehensive whole but at the same time avoiding the monotony that might be associated with a standardised planning structure of this kind.
